Eight FSU Students Selected for Statewide Gubernatorial Fellows Program, Gaining Hands-On Government Experience

Eight students from Florida State University (FSU) have been selected for the Florida Gubernatorial Fellows Program, Class XXI. This yearlong program, starting in 2025, gives ten participants the chance to work in state agencies and gain experience in policymaking and government operations. The FSU group includes students from the College of Law and the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy.

The FSU fellows are Sean Happel (Department of Environmental Protection), Sydney Goldberg (Division of Emergency Management), John Waters (Department of Health), Cole McLellan (Department of Law Enforcement), Alexa Kays (Department of State), Lucas Piroli (Executive Office of the Governor, General Counsel), Andrew Otanes (Department of Commerce), and Kate Rumisek (Department of Corrections). Each student is assigned to a different agency to work with senior officials and contribute to policy projects.
