HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Pasta sauces made in Connecticut and sold at Big Y and Stop & Shop stores are being recalled due to potential for food poisoning, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
RECALL: Taco dinner kits sold at ALDI in Connecticut recalled due to potential milk allergen
First and Last Bakery, LLC, which is based in Hartford, are recalling the products due to possible health risk identified by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP).
The products were manufactured without an approved scheduled process, according to the FDA website. Failure to appropriately process acidified or low-acid canned foods can result in Clostridium botulinum toxin formation, which can cause food poisoning.
The following products are being recalled:
- First and Last Original Marinara Sauce, Tomato and Basil with use-by date of Sept. 2026
- First and Last Original Traditional Marinara Sauce, Tomato and Basil with use-by date of Sept. 2026
- First and Last Original Puttanesca Sauce, Mildly Hot & Spicy with use-by date of Sept. 2026
