Anhydrous ammonia leak prompts shelter-in-place order in Madrid

MADRID, Iowa — Madrid residents were asked to shelter in place due to an anhydrous ammonia leak.

According to a post on Facebook by Madrid Fire and Rescue, residents on the south side of town were asked to shelter in place at around 7 p.m. due to an anhydrous ammonia leak that was reported just south of town.
