El Paso Mayor Engages with EPCC Students on Real Estate’s Role in City’s Economic Growth

On Monday, El Paso Mayor Renard Johnson took time out of his schedule to meet with students from El Paso Community College’s (EPCC) Business Management and Real Estate programs, sharing his insights on the local real estate market and the role it plays in the city’s economic development. Mayor Johnson, who has a three-decade-long career as a licensed real estate agent, emphasized the importance of the industry in shaping the future of El Paso.

Founding his own successful company, METI Inc., while continuing to be engaged in real estate, Johnson is no stranger to the struggles of maintaining professional growth. “I’m proud of you. I had to take continuing education classes in real estate as well, so I’m proud and I want you to help me work to grow El Paso,” Mayor Johnson told EPCC students, as per EPCC News, recognizing the challenges and triumphs of pursuing higher education while urging them to contribute to the city’s expansion.

While speaking to the EPCC Law of Agency class, as well as other Real Estate credited and Continuing Education classes, Mayor Johnson stressed the significance of getting out of one’s comfort zone and building lasting relationships within the community.
