St. Louis construction owner pleads guilty to pandemic loan fraud

ST. LOUIS — A construction and roofing firm owner who faced allegations from a city developer has pleaded guilty to pandemic loan fraud.

Cory Elliott on Tuesday pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud, brought by the public corruption prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in St. Louis, Hal Goldsmith.

An information also filed Tuesday by Goldsmith said that Elliott made false statements to get $1.7 million from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program, meant to help employers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
