ST. LOUIS – A 56-year-old has been charged with Monday’s fatal shooting in the city’s Walnut Park East neighborhood.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened just after 3:15 p.m. in the 5500 block of Prange Avenue, between Genevieve and Thrush. Police arrived to find Javon Carter dead at the scene. Carter was 39.
Investigators learned Carter used a racial slur toward Neils N. Woolfolk, who then left the area in his car, but came back minutes later. Woolfolk got out of his car with a rifle and fired several shots at Carter.
