A tragic incident took place on I-64 near Midtown just before the stroke of midnight on November 1. A male pedestrian was fatally struck by multiple vehicles while on the eastbound highway, just west of the Bernard Street exit. The emergency units discovered the victim unconscious and without a pulse, pronouncing him dead at the scene, according to a report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The nature of the incident prompted the involvement of the Accident Reconstruction team to determine the sequence of events. According to the SLMPD website, preliminary findings appear to suggest that the man was a pedestrian on the highway when he was struck.
