Ground broken on Reno’s new domestic violence resource center

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A ceremonial groundbreaking was held on Tuesday for Reno’s domestic violence resource center.

“We have been working so hard and planning for years and to have it all come together today is just such a great feeling,” said executive director Kristen Kennedy.

The old center on Vassar St. has been demolished to make room for a new 40,000 square foot version. Kennedy says it will have 100 beds and 42 rooms to house women and their children looking to free themselves from abuse…
