City Opens Bidding to Restore Crisis Response Program After CAHOOTS Shutdown

EUGENE, Ore. — The City of Eugene has issued a long-awaited competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) to fund a new crisis response program, following the release of a city report confirming major service gaps since CAHOOTS stopped operating earlier this year.

The gap analysis, published Monday, found that no current provider fulfills the role CAHOOTS once served in responding to mental health and low-acuity medical calls without police involvement.
