Man with 40-year criminal history deemed persistent violent felon

ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) — A man with a criminal past dating back 40 years was sentenced on Monday.

A judge ruled Michael Maye, 56, is a persistent violent felon. Maye received 19 years to life in state prison.

Maye was convicted in August of two counts of burglary in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree. This was in connection to a March 29 break-in on South Pearl Street in Albany, where he entered the same home multiple times and stole several items, including a credit card.
