330 grams of drugs, two guns seized as part of NE Charlotte arrest

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two guns and hundreds of grams of illegal drugs were reportedly seized late last month as part of a northeast Charlotte arrest.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on Oct. 26 in the 1900 block of Finchley Drive, near Eastway Drive.

Officers say allegedly seized:

  • Approximately 73.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine
  • Approximately 105 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately 75 grams of suspected marijuana
  • Approximately 73.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • Approximately 4.2 grams of suspected mushrooms
  • Tarus handgun
  • AR 15 rifle with a switch device
  • Drug paraphernalia

Joshua Lamar Brownlee, 34, was charged with discharging a firearm within city limits, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by felon. He is being held on a $30,000 secured bond.

“Our North Tryon Division officers demonstrated proactive and thorough policing that led to the removal of two firearms and multiple types of illegal narcotics from the streets,” CMPD said. “Their swift, strategic response not only addressed the call for service but also contributed to broader community safety.”…
