Atlanta, GA – A stretch of pleasant fall warmth across North Georgia will reach its peak Thursday before a major cold front sweeps through the state, bringing showers, a few thunderstorms, and a sharp temperature drop heading into next week. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City warns that parts of North Georgia could even experience freezing temperatures by early Monday morning.
The Current Conditions: Calm and Mild Start to November
Early Wednesday brought tranquil, springlike weather to much of the region, with morning temperatures hovering near 50°F and clear, pink-hued skies over Atlanta. A broad high-pressure system will remain in control through Thursday, keeping conditions dry, sunny, and seasonably warm.
Forecasters expect daytime highs to climb into the low to mid-70s across metro Atlanta and north-central Georgia, with light winds making for ideal outdoor conditions. The pleasant pattern will continue into Thursday, allowing residents to enjoy one more day of warmth before the next system arrives.
“High pressure remains in place through Thursday, providing dry weather and above-normal temperatures,” said the NWS Peachtree City forecast office.
