SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — Voters said no to a tax hike that would’ve allowed the school district to build a new school. Superintendent Tamara Willis says they are disappointed, but remain committed to providing quality facilities for students.
The district owns 42 acres off Stanley Drive. The referendum would generate $3.5 million to build a new school. The district’s chief finance and operations officer said that would’ve cost the average taxpayer $7.25 per paycheck.
Dr. Willis says the district can still use that property for a temporary facility. She says the plan is to place modular classrooms there. 300 students would be moved to this location…
