Limestone County Sheriff’s Office warns residents of scam calls

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Following several reports, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is urging people not to fall victim to recent scam callers.

According to the sheriff’s office, the scam claims that you have missed a federal court summons and that a warrant for the call recipient’s arrest has been issued.

The caller may identify themselves as a deputy or provide fake badge numbers to appear real. The caller will then pressure you to pay the amount or provide personal information to “clear up” the information.

LCSO will never call you to request or require payments for anything — service, fine or warrant. They will also not ask for personal or banking information…
