Jacksonville Man Hospitalized After Being Shot and Stabbed in Durkeeville Gas Station Altercation

A violent altercation late Sunday night at a gas station in Jacksonville’s Durkeeville neighborhood has the community on edge following a weekend marked by violence. In the incident, a man was reported to have been both shot and stabbed, according to local law enforcement. Action News Jax states the man, now hospitalized in serious but stable condition, was found with injuries sustained from a shooting and a stabbing at a gas station located on 1300 Kings Road.

The victim arrived at the local hospital on his own accord, claiming the event took place after an interaction with a male and a female behind the gas station, News4Jax reported. Details shared by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) indicated that the man, in his 30s, was accompanied by his wife who, had gone inside the gas station; meanwhile, he walked behind the building. It was there, during an argument with the two individuals, that the victim received atleast one gunshot wound to the torso and a stabbing wound to the face.

Following the altercation, the male and female suspects fled the scene. The JSO is actively working on gathering surveillance footage and witness testimonies in hopes of identifying the assailants, as First Coast News reports.
