LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The Makin’ Groceries Mobile Market is stepping up to fill the gap left by the lapse in funding for SNAP benefits.

Organizers held a mobile market at St. Anthony Church in Lafayette, offering fresh produce and healthy food at low prices to those who stopped by.

State Rep. Tehmi Chiasson of Lafayette’s Northside contributed to the event by using leftover campaign funds to ensure no one went without groceries…
