U.S. Marshals on the hunt for urine test alleged escapist with smuggling charges

San Antonio — The U.S. Marshals now want a man accused of smuggling people into the United States after allegedly trying to cheat on a random drug test.

The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force says 34-year-old Alfonso Araujo is wanted on an active arrest warrant after violating the conditions of his pretrial release.

According to federal officials, Araujo was charged with smuggling migrants in 2024 and released on bond while awaiting court proceedings. Investigators say when he reported to the U.S. Pretrial Services Office for a routine urinalysis, he tried to hide a plastic bottle of someone else’s urine inside his boot…
