WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Wichita teenager critically injured in a crash on Halloween night has died from his injuries. The Kansas Highway Patrol said 16-year-old Dreshawn Hardyway was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. He died on Monday.
According to the Wichita Police Department, officers were monitoring a balloon release on Friday that was planned for a teenager who was killed on the previous Halloween. WPD had received information that there could be violence in the area.
“Officers saw a male they knew to be in violation of probation conditions and tried to stop the male when that male entered a vehicle and attempted to flee with several other males,” said WPD public information officer Andrew Ford to 12 News during a briefing on Friday…
