BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Bakersfield office took part in a statewide Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) on Halloween, aimed at curbing impaired driving. It resulted in 14 alleged DUI arrests, 45 citations, and 49 warnings, said officials.
The 12-hour operation commenced at 6 p.m. on Halloween night and concluded at 6 a.m. on Nov. 1. During this period, all available officers were deployed to ensure the safety of motorists and to prevent impaired driving incidents.
