Georgia high school reclassification could affect more than 100 schools

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – More than 100 schools could face new competition under the Georgia High School Association’s reclassification proposal, with local school leaders expressing concerns about impacts on student athletes.

Kendall Mills, director of athletics for the Muscogee County School District, said reclassification happens regularly but brings challenges.

“In the state of Georgia we do re-classifications every two years for sports. Basically your school population is taken into account because every two years they reclassify the classes,” Mills said…
