The quest for a replacement for the old Good Samaritan Hospital took a major leap forward Tuesday as Dayton voters approved Issue 9.
The 10-year, 1-mill additional property tax to construct a publicly run hospital in West Dayton was approved by just over 58 percent of voters, 9,433-6,784.
It is projected to collect a little more than $2 million per year over its decade-long duration. That additional levy will cost homeowners approximately $35 dollars a year per $100,000 of property valuation.
