KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After earlier in the week announcing that the even would be canceled due to a lack of donations, God’s Kitchen of Michigan has announce that its Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner will go on as planned this year in Kalamazoo, thanks to an anonymous donor.
Pastor William Stein says while visiting the grave of his late mother Tuesday to celebrate her birthday, he received a phone call that saved the holiday event.
Stein says a compassionate gentleman reached out to inquire about the canceled Thanksgiving dinner due to financial constraints. After learning the amount needed to revive the event, Stein says the caller responded with “I can afford that.”
The Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner will now be held Thursday, November 20 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Kanley Chapel on the Western Michigan University campus…
