Maryland residents in the City of Gaithersburg, Prince George’s County and Annapolis took to the polls Tuesday.
Residents of the City of Gaithersburg voted for mayor, who will preside over the City Council and serve a four-year term, and two City Council Members, who are elected at-large to serve a four-year term.
Residents in Prince George’s County, specifically Greenbelt, ranked City Council Member candidates and voted on referendums amending the City Charter’s forty percent (40%) threshold criteria (Sec 31) to ranked-choice voting, a change in Council terms from two years to four years and whether Council Members should be subject to Voter Recall Petitions during their terms in office if four-year terms are approved…
