County, city officials exemption proposed

TALLAHASSEE — Citing safety concerns, a House bill filed this week would create a public-records exemption for personal information about county administrators and city managers.

Rep. Alex Rizo, R-Hialeah, filed the bill (HB 263) for consideration during the 2026 legislative session, which will start in January.

The bill would shield from release information such as home addresses, telephone numbers and dates of birth. It would apply to county administrators, city managers, deputy county administrators, assistant county administrators, deputy city managers, assistant city managers, their spouses and children…
