CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Opening statements began Wednesday in Luke Truesdell’s trial for four murders in 2024.
Truesdell is accused of beating Amanda Parker, 33, Romondus Cooper, 44, Keonna Ryan, 26, and Brent Brown, 34, to death with a metal pipe in June, 2024 in rural Linn County. Truesdell pled not guilty in July.
Court records show Truesdell was still at the property when investigators arrived and began to learn what had happened. Three months ago, the judge ruled some of Truesdell’s statements to investigators would be inadmissible in court because he was not read his Miranda rights until later in the interview…
