DES MOINES, Iowa — Paul Tullis is the founder of the free Parks Community Thanksgiving Dinner who spent decades feeding others. Now, he’s among the hundreds of people being helped by the community he created.
In 1984, Tullis and his wife started the Parks Community Thanksgiving Dinner in a church basement. Their goal was to provide warm Thanksgiving meals for people in Des Moines for free. That year, they helped 50 community members.
