Springfield resident captures dazzling fireball meteor streaking across sky

Next time you’re outside, take a moment to look up, as you just might see a fireball streaking across the sky. And despite what some might claim on social media, it’s not aliens or Superman flying by, but rather meteors.

Yesterday, we published an article calling for an upcoming peak in the Taurid Meteor Shower, promising a dazzling light show across the Ozarks. Today, that promise is being fulfilled as viewers have been sending in photos and videos of brilliant fireballs overhead.

Angela Ellis sent a video into our newsroom of an unknown fireball spotted this afternoon in Springfield, Missouri.
