More paid parking spots coming to downtown Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — More curbside signage is going up this month as the city’s new parking plan for downtown Wichita expands.

The city has begun the Phase 4 implementation of paid parking, with the installation of signage expected to be completed by the end of November.

Phase 4 addresses the remaining streets in the downtown area where paid parking has not yet been implemented.

Paid parking operates Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Charges do not apply outside these hours, except during “Event Parking” times, according to the city’s website.

The rates for parking are set at $1 per hour, $5 daily for public parking lots, and $10 daily for public parking garages…
