ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Anchorage police have updated the public dashboard that shows how Anchorage’s camping ban is being enforced in the city.
The ordinance — which went into effect in July — makes it illegal to camp near places like roads, trails, sidewalks, schools and daycare centers, among other places.
According to APD, the numbers reflect enforcement that began in the beginning of September. Since that time, 18 people have been arrested, 284 people have complied with the law and moved on, and 20 have accepted some form of services including housing and treatment…
