Officers shoot, kill car theft suspect on Ashley Ave in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk police shot and killed a man who fired shots at them Wednesday night.

According to officials, Suffolk police received a Be On The Lookout (BOLO) just after 8 p.m. for a stolen vehicle out of Chesapeake. Police said officers located the vehicle in the 900 block of Ashley Avenue.

Our WAVY crew located this scene at the intersection of Battery Avenue and Hull Street nearby.

As two officers approached the vehicle, the sole occupant of the vehicle fired shots. Officers returned fire and struck the occupant. Officers rendered aid until Suffolk Fire & Rescue arrived on scene to provide treatment…
