Flames erupt at storage facility southwest of downtown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A fire broke out southwest of downtown Fort Wayne on Wednesday evening at a storage facility.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to the 2200 block of Broadway at around 8 p.m., responding to a brush fire in the woods along the railroad tracks in the area.

Fire crews saw a wooded area on fire and noticed smoke emanating from a storage facility along the woods–BTE Storage. Crews on scene called for backup and began an aggressive attack on the fire that had spread to several storage units, according to a press release…
