The New York State Police have announced a seizure of over 300 grams of illegal narcotics.
A routine traffic stop was far from routine after members of the New York State Police discovered a car traveling along the New York State Thruway was carrying hundreds of grams of cocaine and ketamine.
Traffic Stop Uncovers Illegal Drugs
According to the New York State Police (NYSP), on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at approximately 2:01 p.m., members of the NYSP Troop K Community Stabilization Unit conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling northbound on the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) in the Town of Ulster, NY.
As Troopers were conducting the traffic stop, one of their K9s, State Police K9 Vinn, conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of narcotics, according to a press release.
