SALEM, Va. (WFXR)- Police in Salem arrested a man following an alleged shots fired incident in the early morning hours on Thursday.
According to the press release, officers arrived at the home in the 100 block of Wortham Street around 4:40 a.m. There they encountered a man holding a handgun.
Police said the suspect refused to leave the home and went back inside. Negotiators with the department’s Emergency Response Team were contacted and responded to the residence. After several attempts to encourage the suspect to come out peacefully, the suspect did as instructed.
