BEDFORD Va. (WXFR) – Several crews spent much of Wednesday putting out brush fires that spread fast due to high winds and dry conditions.
“So currently we’ve had several brush fires along 460, also along Hogan’s road and Cortes Road. We don’t know what caused them, but upon arrival, there were several fires that ended up combining into larger fires,” said Lieutenant William Kirby with Bedford County Fire and Rescue.
Kirby says multiple departments were called in to help contain the flames, and while homes were protected, two outbuildings were damaged…
