Roanoke, Virginia – Drivers in Roanoke should prepare for an overnight ramp closure as part of an ongoing project to enhance the northbound Interstate 581 exit ramp onto eastbound Orange Avenue. According to transportation officials, the temporary closure will take place on the evening of Wednesday, November 19, weather permitting.
Beginning at 7 p.m., the northbound exit 4E off-ramp will be shut down to allow crews to safely perform key infrastructure upgrades. The ramp is scheduled to reopen before the morning commute on Thursday, November 20.
To assist motorists during the closure, detour signs will be placed along the route. Drivers traveling northbound on I-581 will be directed to take exit 4W onto westbound Orange Avenue, loop around, and then head southbound on I-581 to re-access exit 4E to reach eastbound Orange Avenue…
