Iberville Parish sheriff’s son released from hospital weeks after shooting at courthouse

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Cpt. Brett Stassi Jr. has been released from the hospital, according to the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office. They made the announcement exactly one month after a shooting took place at the Iberville Parish courthouse.

IPSO said his recovery will remain ongoing at home. Stassi was injured in a shooting that took the life of Deputy Charles Riley. He spent time in the ICU while at the hospital and at one point had to be put back on a ventilator.
