ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — More than $130 million in disaster recovery funds have been approved for western North Carolina communities that are still rebuilding after Helene.
The funding released through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) shows at least 48 projects have been cleared.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) accounts for the largest share with more than $54 million in repairs.
