WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Negotiations between the Palm Beach County Classroom Teachers Association and the school district have reached a stalemate following an impasse over teacher pay.
The Classroom Teachers Association is asking for a 5% salary increase, while the district is offering a 1.5% raise with a 1.5% bonus, Gordon Longhofer, President of the Classroom Teachers Association, told CBS12 News. The disagreement has led to a salary impasse.
“It’s just unfair and unjust to them, given the success teachers have had keeping the Palm Beach County school district an A-rated district and establishing 44 high-achieving schools and getting the district the high academic performing school district label from the state of Florida that it has,” Longhofer said…
