The next generation of Lake Erie brown trout arrived at a local fish hatchery on Thursday.
The SONS of Lake Erie received around 1,500 brown trout from the Linesville Fish Hatchery in Crawford County.
Dates set for 2025 Presque Isle Deer Hunt
The fish are only a few inches in size, and will be cared for by the SONS at their hatchery on Chestnut Street until they’re ready to be released into Presque Isle Bay.
The hatchery manager, Jack Bock, said they do this to maintain the trout population in Lake Erie for sport fishing.
