Nonprofit in need of donations after winds damage tents in Harrisburg’s homeless camp

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — The lot that houses a number of Harrisburg’s homeless was damaged Wednesday night when strong winds ripped through south-central Pennsylvania.

Eight tents at Amiracle Community, located at 1125 South 9th St., will need to be replaced, according to Timothy White, Director of Operations of Amiracle4Sure, the nonprofit that runs the site.

People began moving into the new community back in August after the City of Harrisburg cleared out its main homeless encampment, dubbed Tent City, to make way for PennDOT construction…
