Roaches are the latest problem dogging a breakfast restaurant in The Villages.
An inspector made multiple trips in October to Perkins Restaurant and Bakery at 905 Bichara Blvd. at La Plaza Grande and found roaches during each inspection. Those inspections were Oct. 7, 22, 21 and 24. In each of the visits, there were both dead roaches and living roaches on the premises. In some instances the restaurant manager killed roaches as the inspector watched.
On Oct. 3, Perkins was ordered closed by a health inspector who roaches and eggs that were broken and cracked. The inspector issued a “stop sale” order for the bad eggs.
The restaurant also had a gas leak on Oct. 9 which was discovered by firefighters responding to a reported stove fire. The restaurant was evacuated due to the emergency…
