ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Businesses in Rochester are stepping up to help those in need during the ongoing government shutdown. The Hideaway on Park Avenue is offering free meals every Thursday, no questions asked.
On Thursday, people started arriving at noon, with most opting for takeout. Sherian Jenkins, who came with two others, was grateful for the meal.
“And a beautiful spot, getting a free meal off a menu. Not something that’s trayed. Not something that’s in a can. Not something that if a person don’t have a stove to cook on, you know they come in here, get an order and get a meal of choice. Beautiful. I love this,” Jenkins said…
