MARYLAND — A new voice is joining the debate over Governor Wes Moore’s push to redraw Maryland’s congressional maps.
On Thursday, former Governor Larry Hogan pushed back, calling the effort a “cancer on our democracy.”
“As governor, I created Maryland’s first truly independent Citizens Redistricting Commission,” Hogan said in a statement released on social media, “My goal was not to elect more Republicans. It was to ensure that Marylanders could choose their representatives instead of politicians choosing their voters. Governor Moore’s partisan redistricting advisory panel puts that progress at risk.”…
