BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – More than $1 million in unclaimed money is being returned to Mississippians via state-issued checks.
Mississippi State Treasurer David McRae said his office will send $1.3 million to roughly 4,700 residents who have unclaimed money from government sources.
“We have an unclaimed money department here at the state treasury in Jackson,” McRae said. “It’s money that’s not been found or it’s been lost over time. It’s rightfully owed to somebody.”…
