LUBBOCK, Texas—35-year-old, Timothy Andrew Gonzalez, was sentenced to 18 years by a Judge, for intoxication causing the death of 17-year-old Kashara Jackson. The crash occurred on the 6100 Block of Slide Road on August 19, 2021.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported A Ford F-550, driven by 30-year-old Timothy Andrew Gonzalez, was traveling southbound in the 6100 block of Slide Road, while a Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 20-year-old Alexus Jackson, was traveling westbound in the 5100 block of the S. Loop 289 access road. A pedestrian, 21-year-old Nathaniel Ruiz, was walking along the sidewalk in between Slide Road and the turn-around lane for the S. Loop 289 access road.
The Ford F-550 struck the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the intersection. Debris from the crash then struck Ruiz as he was walking. Gonzalez failed to stop and render aid, and fled northbound on foot along Slide Road, ultimately being taken into custody by an LPD patrol officer behind Crunch Fitness.
