Residents of the northwest side of Rockford have been witnessing a peculiar sight for almost a decade now. An older man, dressed in full explorer or safari attire, has been spotted walking or trotting around the neighborhood. His outfit, complete with a belted khaki jacket, khaki pants tucked into high leather boots, and what appears to be a pith helmet, has sparked intrigue among the locals. The man has been seen on various occasions on Halstead, Riverside, and Huffman.
