DENVER (KDVR) — Aurora police are reminding drivers of the importance of yielding to emergency vehicles after a crash on Thursday sent three firefighters to the hospital.
The Aurora Police Department said the agency has issued a summons to a 20-year-old driver for multiple citations after reportedly crashing into an Aurora Fire Rescue engine responding to an emergency call.

According to Aurora Fire Rescue, at around noon on Thursday, its emergency vehicle was responding to a medical emergency with lights and sirens activated.
Video provided by the police department shows a fire engine making a U-turn. At that time, another vehicle is shown continuing to travel on the road, ultimately hitting the front of the emergency vehicle.
Three firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. However, it is unknown if the driver in the other vehicle suffered any injuries.
