Hopkinsville man sentenced to life for 2021 double murder

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Hopkinsville man has been sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted of two 2021 murders in Christian County.

Kentucky State Police said 53-year-old Bobby Spikes was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison for the murder of 34-year-old Candace Marcel and 35-year-old Stanley Bussell, both of Hopkinsville.

According to a news release, on Dec. 9, 2021, troopers found Marcel’s body inside an abandoned vehicle on KY 124 in Trigg County. Investigators later searched Marcel’s home on Clearman Court in Hopkinsville and discovered Bussell’s body…
