One person arrested after police chase ends in crash in Ohio

OHIO — A Dayton man was arrested Wednesday after police say he led officers on a high-speed chase that ended when his vehicle crashed into a utility pole near an active school zone.

According to the Sidney Police Department, officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Interstate 75 northbound around 3 p.m. on Nov. 5 for multiple traffic violations within the city. The driver refused to pull over and continued at a high rate of speed, prompting a pursuit.

The chase exited I-75 at State Route 274 and continued through the Jackson Center area, police said. The driver eventually lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. A Sidney Police officer then positioned his cruiser to block the vehicle from re-entering the roadway and heading toward a nearby school zone…
