City council approves southeast corridors planning study for southeast Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Fort Wayne City Council has approved a major planning effort to evaluate and improve several key roadway corridors in Southeast Fort Wayne.

The Southeast Corridors Planning Study will examine about 8.9 miles of roadway, including:

  • S. Anthony Boulevard
  • W. and E. Paulding Road
  • Fairfield Avenue / Tillman Road
  • E. Tillman Road

The study will look at traffic safety, sidewalks and pedestrian access, transit use, bike connectivity, and opportunities for commercial redevelopment along the corridors.

The planning phase will cost $868,579, and city officials say it is fully funded through a federal USDOT RAISE Grant, meaning no local tax dollars are required…
